WriteNudge support

A little help, so you can keep writing.

Setup, supported fields, local models and keeping your draft.

Getting started

Check the requirements first.

Requires macOS 26 or later. Basic spelling and clarity checks do not require an installed model. Apple’s on-device eligible sentence fixes require Apple Intelligence enabled and available on a supported Mac.

The beta is invite-only, and invited testers receive the download and installation steps by email. WriteNudge runs on Apple silicon Macs; Intel Macs have not been tested.

Help in other apps

Assistant needs permission and a supported field.

Enable Assistant and grant Accessibility permission in System Settings. App and field support varies; some hosts, including Microsoft Office and terminals, offer Copy only. The internal editor does not need Accessibility permission.

For Fix Word at Caret, press Control+Option+Command+S in a supported editable field. Assistant and Accessibility permission must be enabled. If another app already owns the shortcut, Settings reports the registration failure.

Turn Assistant off to stop polling and clear external context. Hide until tomorrow only hides the tab. Recognized secure fields are refused, but custom controls may not expose usable security signals.

Models and drafts

Check local availability. Keep a copy.

Install Ollama and a suitable local model for Tone, Prompt, selection actions and sentence fallback. Check availability in Settings. Memory and disk requirements vary by model. Model output varies; review it before applying.

Document rewrites above 20,000 characters and selection actions above 6,000 characters are refused rather than silently shortened.

The editor is memory-only. Copy or export writing you want to keep before closing the app. The removable local voice profile adapts deterministic checks; it does not train a model.

Updates

Check update status explicitly.

Use Check for Updates… in the application menu, or manage automatic checks in Settings. Checks use writenudge.app, exclude writing and have system profiling off. Automatic checks start enabled; automatic installation starts disabled.

A failed check does not establish that the app is up to date. Accepting an available update makes a separate download request. See the update traffic disclosure.

Contact SSU

Describe the problem with a fictional example.

Include the app version, macOS version, the action you tried and the error message. If text is needed, use a short fictional example. Keep private writing, license keys and payment details out of screenshots and messages.

The configured support contact is support [at] writenudge.app. SSU replies as soon as it can; no response time is promised.
